WHAT IS

LASER GENESIS?

Laser Genesis is a non-ablative laser that utilizes micropulses – short and quick bursts of energy that do not damage the skin’s surface. As a skin rejuvenating treatment, Laser Genesis can help restore a youthful glow by smoothing out uneven skin textures caused by sun damage, aging, or scars. In addition, it minimizes pores and diminishes minor imperfections, helping you achieve a healthier complexion.

The device can safely treat all skin types. Its non-aggressive approach is less likely to promote hyperpigmentation in patients with dark skin, unlike other skin resurfacing lasers.

Individual treatments produce subtle results, but the overall effect of consistent sessions can be quite dramatic because the results are cumulative.

LASER GENESIS

BENEFITS

1. Reverse Sun Damage

Skin damage from the sun has been linked to numerous signs of aging, from wrinkling to large pores to a dull appearance. Laser Genesis treatments boost the production of new collagen and reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation. By targeting the pigment in the skin and breaking it down, the lasers can help clear up the discolouration associated with scars. They also stimulate the production of elastin and keratin, which helps to smooth out your skin and make it appear younger.

2. Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Laser Genesis can help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by promoting collagen production. By stimulating the body’s production of new collagen, the lasers can help to diminish the appearance of existing fine lines and wrinkles. The treatments also help to boost elastin production, which keeps skin firm and resilient. This provides an excellent solution for those who are looking for an alternative to invasive procedures.

3. Restore Moisture to the Skin

Due to the fact that it can help to promote collagen, elastin, and new skin cell production, Laser Genesis treatments can also help to restore moisture to your skin. This is perfect for those with oily or dull complexions, as it can help reduce the appearance of large pores and oily skin. Your skin will be smoother, softer, and will have a more youthful glow to it.

4. Improve Skin’s Complexion

When you’re struggling with acne scarring and other skin issues, it can take a toll on your self-image. Laser Genesis treatments help to improve your skin’s complexion and make you feel better about your appearance. The laser treatments will help smooth out texture issues, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce discolouration. When you feel better about your skin, it’s easier to present yourself with confidence.

5. Reduce the Appearance of Acne Scars

Acne scars are another big problem for people struggling with acne. Laser Genesis can reduce the appearance of acne scars by targeting the dark pigment associated with acne and breaking it down. This reduces the appearance of the scar and restores the natural skin tone, providing a smoother and more even appearance.

6. Reduce Pore Size

If you have large pores, Laser Genesis can assist in the reduction of their appearance by up to 70%. The treatment boosts collagen production, which can help plump up the skin and fill in pores. This can help make your skin look smoother, younger, and more vibrant. Instead of only targeting the discolouration, the Laser Genesis treatments can get to the root of the problem.

7. Boost Skin’s Firmness

Laser Genesis works to boost the skin’s elasticity and firmness, which can help to add a youthful glow to your skin. Fewer wrinkles, brighter skin and a smoothed completion aids you in looking younger and in turn more confident in yourself and your skins’ appearance.

COMBINING LASER GENESIS

AND OTHER TREATMENTS

HydraGenesis: HydraFacial + Laser Genesis

HydraGenesis is a dual treatment that combines the resurfacing power of the HydraFacial with the collagen-stimulating benefits of Laser Genesis. 2D Laser: Laser Genesis + IPL Photofacial

Works best for clients with rosacea and clients with mature skin exposed to sun. Utilizing state of the art not one but two Cutera laser devices in one session to treat two different layers of the skin at once. This cosmetic procedure starts with IPL Photofacial that sends broad spectrum light into more superficial layers of the skin to target pigmentation, enlarged pores and spider veins. Followed by Laser Genesis, its laser micropulse energy gently heats up mid-dermal layer to encourage new collagen formation, restore damaged tissue, lift and tighten skin, giving younger and firmer appearance.

LASER GENESIS FAQS

  • Laser Genesis is an ideal treatment for the face, neck, chest, and other areas of the body with noticeable signs of aging, sun damage, redness, mild wrinkles or scarring.

  • Micro-pulses of laser energy are gently delivered to the skin. The laser stimulates the body’s own processes to activate collagen remodeling to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and unwanted brown spots.

In addition, Laser Genesis addresses facial redness by targeting the excess micro vessels. Although the individual treatment results are subtle, the overall effect of a treatment series can be quite dramatic.

  • You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic.

  • Treatment time depends on the area of the body being treated. However, most treatments should take less than one hour.

  • A series of four to six Laser Genesis treatments are recommended to achieve an optimal outcome. Improvements are gradual and will be seen over a period of few treatments. Results will continue to improve for months after the last treatment. To sustain results over time, ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged.

  • Because the Laser Genesis procedure is noninvasive, you may notice a slight redness immediately after treatment which will resolve within a few hours. Since there is no downtime, you can apply sunscreen and makeup and return to your normal daily activities immediately.

  • Results can take up to three to four weeks to appear as the new cells reach the surface of the skin and the body’s collagen production increases. Improvements will continue to appear over the coming weeks after your procedure.

  • Laser Genesis is only permanent when treating scars. However, if you have any pigment issues such as rosacea, you will need a follow up treatment at least once per year.

The amount of time that Laser Genesis results last varies from patient to patient. However, most patients find that their results last anywhere from 6 to 12 months before they need a follow up treatment. The number of treatments needed to get these results will depend on your skin condition before treatment. For most, 4-6 sessions will provide optimal results. For those who want a more dramatic change, 6+ treatments may be necessary.

Depending on how well you take care of your skin, your results can sometimes last longer than 12 months.

  • The main difference between Laser Genesis and IPL treatment is the technology used to achieve a more youthful appearance.

IPL uses broad spectrum, high intensity pulses of light that penetrate the skin tissue. The light is either absorbed by the blood or the melanin thus helping damaged lesions without harming the surrounding tissue, allowing the body to heal and create a smoother skin appearance.

In contrast, Laser Genesis uses heat to stimulate collagen production in the skin and kill bacteria that causes acne breakouts. Much like IPL, this treatment is ideal for those who want to treat acne, redness, scars, wrinkles, and fine lines.

  • As with any medical treatment, expecting & nursing mothers are advised against treatment.

The heat from laser genesis can trigger melasma, so it is not suitable for these patients.

  • The aftercare process for Laser Genesis is relatively simple and should not cause any major disruptions to your routine.

Immediately following your Laser Genesis treatment, apply sunscreen and continue your daily activities. Makeup application is allowed. Refrain from using exfoliants or scrubs for at least 48 hours. In addition, you will need to avoid exposing the treatment area to heat, steam, or sweat for 48 hours after your procedure. Sunscreen of SPF30+ or higher should be applied daily.

  • We recommend your next treatment to be spaced 3-4 weeks from the previous treatment. For treatment of rosacea and mild acne, the best result is achieved when treatments are spaced 2 weeks apart.

  • Laser Genesis is the perfect laser to do before a last minute event because it plumps the skin (remember? no downtime!). Combine it with a HydraFacial and you’re camera ready immediately.

If you are traveling to a sunny destination, make sure to schedule your Laser Genesis at least 3 days prior to your departure to avoid sun sensitivity.
